A LOVE like no other!

I have been reading a book called Crazy Love by Frances Chan and it has challenged me a lot these past few weeks to the point I had to share this...

"O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory I pray Thee, so that I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up my love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long."

I have found that there is such freedom in love. "As long as we are pursuing Him, we are satisfied in Him. It is when we stop actively loving Him that we find ourselves restless and gravitating toward other means of fulfillment." When we pursue something else other that Christ we are moving towards the sin nature that once so entagled us as Paul talks about in Romans. We have freedom from that nature to where it no longer rules us. For us to sin we stop loving and pursuing Christ to pursue the sin nature. This is something we don't think about, but think about it! When we take our eyes off of Christ we turn to the world to meet other needs and satisfactions and in turn falling into sin.
To truly love someone or something makes you go above and beyond the norm and in that there is freedom to express and be who you really are. Love has a funny way of doing that and reveals the good and bad things in our hearts. The beauty of a relationship with the Lord is that we have the freedom to express who we really are and who He has created us to be. He already knows everything about us and guides us in the way that helps us to experience Him to the fullest. The thing about God is that He will never leave us, He has His best in mind for us and He is constantly pursuing us. We have FREEDOM in LOVING God and what do you know, it is the best experience in the whole world. It is hard to look at our sinful hearts and realize how often we reject God in our lives, but He is there to take our hand and bring us back to knowing what complete and true love is. I pray that I long for His grace daily, and thirst for His love and seek the new work that He has for me each day. I am a new creation formed in love by my Father who desires me to experience His perfect Love each day no matter what high or low I may be in. I pray my focus stays on pursuing His love and not a love of this world. Because NOTHING compares to Him...
I am painfully conscious of my need for further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still.
