His Vision...

The crazy work days, the full time school schedule, the ministry events, Bible study, etc. all will fall into place when I am in the proper place with the Lord. I have found that life makes sense when everything else is dropped first and the Lord is made the center. He helps pick up what else is left to be done that day as I follow in His steps with His vision for my day! I have begun to realize that everything points to my view of God. When I do not have the proper view of God everything else is seen only through my own eyes and I am trying to figure out everything on my own which leads only to confusion and frustration. Grace Active O God, may Thy Spirit speak in me that I may speak to Thee. Help me to contemplate the dignity of Thy Person, the perfectness of Thy sacrifice, the effectiveness of Thy intercession. O what blessedness accompanies devotion, when under all the trials that weary me, the cares that corrode me, the fears that disturb me, the infirmities that oppress me, I can come to Thee in my need and feel peace beyond understanding! The grace that restores is necessary to preserve, lead, guard, supply, help me. The Beauty of Being Content in the Lord...

It happened to be the last week of our Bible study with our girls on Saturday morning. We finished up in Philippians 4:10-23. It was a powerful lesson and I wanted to share with you some of the things that I learned through this lesson. It is about being confident that God is in control! There was a puritan writer by the name of Jeremiah Burroughs who defined contentment as: Christian contentment is that sweet inward quiet, that gracious frame of the spirit which freely submits to and delights in God's wise and fatherly disposal in every condition. It is understanding and believing that when we are walking right with God and know that He is in control of all that happens to us, that brings His peace and contentment no matter the circumstance in our lives.
